I made my own Fall mason jar candle holders, and I’d like to share it with you. I used battery operated flicker tealights instead of candles. Now, they’re not fabulous, but it was my first time trying this DIY craft.
I bought everything I needed from Michael’s, and used their handy 50% off coupon, because, well, coupons are awesome.
Tip: Start with one leaf at a time. A blow dryer will speed up the drying process of the modge podge.
Using different sizes of leaves creates a fun pattern, and you want to make sure not to cover the entire jar. Leave open spaces between the leaves so that you’ll see the glow of the flicker tealight.
Once it’s all dry, you can clean off any excess glue for a nice clean finish. Then just tie on your raffia (or any other decoration of your choosing), and you’re done.
Note – I did purchase the flicker tealights online, as they were much cheaper than in the store.
It’s fun, easy and fairly inexpensive to make. You could even make them as gifts for friends and family!
